If you decide to become a solo practicing attorney you need to be prepared to work. To be a success you cannot only work 40 hours a week nor can you avoid work on the weekends. You will spend your work days in court, on the phone, and dealing with clients. Thus, you will hardly ever be working on things you need to do. You will do this in the evenings and weekends.
It will not always be like that because as you add staff you can have them do many of the jobs that take up your work day. However, if you want to be successful and stay in business for the long term you have to be prepared to sacrifice your personal time and the things you want to do then you have to be prepared to work.
